Reflection
One of the most useful and unique things I have done with the Minor in Writing is reflect upon my writing. I had never before considered why I write or how I had evolved as a writer. By taking the time to consider these topics, I discovered who I am as a writer and why I love it so much. Although I have recognized where I have improved thusfar, I also realized where I can improve even more as a writer. Through my struggle with writing to specific audiences and horrible tendency to write repetitively, I have a clear idea of how I can improve even more as a writer. Better yet, the minor in Writing has given me the tools to be successful improving my writing as I continue on my writing journey. Linked below are two reflective essays I have written. "Why I Write" was one of the first pieces I wrote while in the minor. The "Evolution Essay" is one of the last pieces I wrote for the minor. Between the two essays, it is clear that my writing has become more eloquent and I have become more aware of who I am as a writer. I have even improved at designing portfolios since starting the minor. Here is a link to my minor in Writing gateway portfolio, which features even more of my beginning work as a writer.
